Harpenden

We enjoyed experimenting with a predominantly monochromatic material palette in this contemporary garden. We have offset this striking aesthetic by using luscious greens and dramatic use of texture and foliage to bring life and grandeur to this otherwise dark and forgotten corner of the property.

These brave and wonderful clients allowed us full freedom to experiment with interesting combinations of materials. We also went big on the Dicksonia antarctica in order to lift the space and create a little bit of drama. Borrowing space from the driveway (as this is actually a ‘side garden’) allowed us to make full use of the area. This is now a dining and entertaining space for friends and family - creating purpose and a destination out of an otherwise unused area.

We worked with Joe and Laura to redesign our small side garden. Joe really understood what we were trying to achieve and managed to incorporate everything on our wishlist into a stylish and practical design. The space has been totally transformed and we have been making the most of enjoying this as both a lovely place to sit and somewhere that looks fab. Laura has done an incredible job with planting as even we as very amateur gardeners have managed to keep all the plants thriving. We are so pleased with the outcome and can thoroughly recommend Carey Garden Design. We would definitely use them again.
